News Reports

German Submission Bishops Praise the World

Germany. The German Bishops have could have taken something from the Conciliar Fathers from other continents, something about "fear of the world" -- which is currently pulverizing the Church in Germany.  This is what Archbishop Robert Zollisch of Freiburg said to 'Katholischen Nachrichtagentur' over the World Bishops' Synod  closing on Sunday.  There were positions given about "the hostile world, from which we must be detached".  The German Church-tax Bishops are opposed, rather "going to the world".

Bishops Against Homosexual Depravity

Slovakia.  The Family Council of the Slovakian Bishops' Conference has asked the Parliament to vote against the privileging of homosexuality.  The Council warns that the homosexually disturubed  will lead to a "civil partnership in the law".  Homosexuality must not be put at the same level with a Papa-mama-baby-marriage.  The homosexually disturbed stand "in complete opposition to the sanctity of sexuality between husband and wife in marriage".  St. Paul has already addressed the loan which is due from homosexuals because of their aberration. The position recalled antique Rome, which fell because of its own immorality.

Wild Reactions

Germany.  On October 30th the former protestant Minister Andreas Theurer and his wife converted to the Church.  This was reported by the Lutheran news 'edp'.  Actually the two wanted to convert today on "Reformation Day", October 31st.  Actually that would have been felt by Protestants as a "monstrous provocation", explained Theurer.  Because of "wild reactions" the conversion was to take place on Monday.

The Poles Warn -- the Germans Downplay

Poland.  The website of the Archdiocese of Warsaw has warned against "Satanic practices", which will corrupt the youth on the so-called festival of Halloween.  It has spread occultism and sorcery.  On the other hand, Archbishop Robert Zollitsch has said on his Archdiocesan website that Halloween is next to the "carved  faces in pumpkins at scary parties" allegedly increases interest in the All Saint's Day and All Soul's Day feasts.  There is a time to have a "collective harvest wonder", he insisted.

Euphemisms About Mass Apostasy

Austria.  The decline of Christians in Europe is dependent above all on the decreasing numbers of births.  So the Old Liberal Vienna Cardinal Christoph Schoenborn took his own responsibility for this massive decline in the Church from the table, for the Church-tax News 'kathpress'.  A connection between the decline of births and the allowance by the Bishops of artificial contraception in the Mariatroster Declaration [Austrian Bishops rejected 'Humane Vitae' in 1968, although he was quick to excuse it early in September.] was not made by the Cardinal.   There is no cause for his resignation -- he smoothed over the problem beautifully.

Warsaw Archbishop: Madonna Concert 'Vulgar and Self-Indulgent"

The protest was also held against the timing of the concert in Poland, on the memorial of the murder of 200,000 of their countrymen  in the 1944 uprising against the Germans.

Warsaw (kath.net/KNA/red)  A Madonna concert on the anniversary of the Warsaw uprising has been condemned by the Polish capital's Archbishop Henryk Hoser in his reflection on the event.  The churchman described the show for the Warsaw radio station as "blasphemous, vulgar and self-indulgent".

The call for the freedom of art with may not justify the "deafening bedlam" on this day.  "There's no excuse for this",  said Hoser according to Polish news agency HAI's report.

Every year Poland recalls its countrymen on August 1st who were murdered when the Nazis put down the uprising.

The correspondence of the Madonna's appearance was criticized by many Poles.  Around 55,000 people supported the protest of the conservative youth organization "Youth Crossing".  They also criticized that the pop star insults the Catholic Faith.

Because of the Catholic protest the Warsaw city council insisted that the singer run a two and a half minute information video on the Polish Uprising of 1944.  This was reported by Cathnews USA.  This also happened to the applause of thousands of fans. [groan]

The national statidum is in the Archdiocese of Warsaw-Praga not far from the Cathedral of Archbishop Hoser.  Already in 2009 the Poles protested against a Madonna concert on the Assumption.  The Catholic Church then declined the Catholic right-wing committee to have a Mass for the protest.  It was not opportune, was the reasoning.

Poles Resist Invasion of Decadent Secularism

Edit:  A few days ago, we aired a story from the German Catholic commerce website kath.net about how Polish youth was taking to the streets against the encroachments of an alien and pernicious ideology.  Now the major news services are putting their finish on the story about an American prostitute who identifies herself with the Mother of God.

In some parts of the world, notably the United States, this kind of depravity insulting the womanhood of the nation is passed over as something you may or may not be interested in.  There aren't a lot of people interested in protecting the purity of the nation and the youth.

In Poland things are somewhat different.  It is the Polish youth who are fighting, like their grandsires, against the decadence, the materialism and narcissism of an alien culture.  This is also one of the most sacred days of the year for Poles.

August 1st is also the memorial of the Warsaw uprising when the Poles rose up against the occupying German Army.  This is a different sort of occupation.

Related News Stories:

411 writes:

Billboards promoting the concert have been vandalized with the sign of the Polish Home Army, the largest underground army in the Nazi-Occupied Europe.

BBC, one of the most depraved news services in Europe, never the less admits:

Every year, at 1700 on 1 August, sirens wail across Warsaw and people stand still to pay their respects to the victims of the 63-day uprising, our correspondent says.
Conservative opposition MP Stanislaw Pieta has appealed to the government not to allow the concert to go ahead in Warsaw's National Stadium, Polish Radio reports.
Concert organisers have agreed to a proposal by city officials to show a short film about the uprising in the stadium before the show, in an attempt to appease the protesters.

The Telegraph is the most balanced and sympathetic:

Madonna is facing protests from Polish war veterans and conservative Catholics because her Warsaw concert tonight clashes with the anniversary of the largest and bloodiest battles in the country's history.

Poland: Catholic Youth Accuse "Madonna" of Blasphemy

Edit: first she's booed in Paris and her audience wants their money back.  Now a Polish youth organization is planning a substantial protest against her appearance in Warsaw on August 1st, on the anniversary of the 1944 uprising against the Germans.  Madonna is an invader of a different sort.

Student organization "Crusade of the Youth" is accusing Madonna of blasphemy.  45,000 Poles joined up Friday to protest against the concert on the Internet.

Warsaw (kath.net/CBA)  in Poland, there are protests against a concert planned for next Wednesday by pop star Madonna.  As the Polish news agency KAI reports on Friday the Catholic student organization "Crusade of Youth" has asked the Warsaw city council to ban the show.  They accuse Madonna among other things, of blasphemy.  45,000 Poles joined Friday's protest agains the student organization of the concert.

Meanwhile, three Catholic priests called on the faithful to pray for a cancellation of the show. The concert was the main aim of Madonna's, to mock God and Christianity, according to a joint appeal by the Rev. Andrzej Grefkowicz and Pawel Wiecek Robert Pajak and the Jesuits.[Really?] Previously, the Catholic Association of the Journalists of Poland, Madonna had turned against the appearance of the new National Stadium. The spokesman of the Polish Bishops' Conference, Jozef Kloch does not wish to take a position in the dispute.

There is also criticism that the concert on the anniversary of the Warsaw Uprising which takes place on 1 August 1944. Every year on this day of some estimated 200,000 Poles are remembered to have been killed by German occupiers during the suppression of the revolt. The organizers of the concert met the critics with the assistance of the City Council. Prior to Madonna's appearance a two-minute film about the Warsaw uprising will be shown. The Veterans Association of the combatants of the Warsaw uprising, however, will observe a minute's silence.

Devilish "Energy Drink" Blasphemes the Mass in Poland

Edit: We got this from an organizer at Polish Facebook group Satanizm nie przejdzie - bojkot produktów Agros Nova, to ban satanic advertisement of an energy drink and its insult to the Mass in Poland of all places.  It just goes to show you that things are getting bad all over.

Catholics, Christians, all believers in God! Poland is under an assault of corporate-sponsored satanism in the form of the "Demon Energy Drink" advertisement campaign. Our young are being corrupted with praises of demonic values and occult symbolism. We have to put an end to it! Our page promotes a boycott of all the grocery products of Agros-Nova, a company that makes "Demon Energy Drink" in Poland. The more likes we have, the bigger chance we have to be successful. I urge you to add your "like" to this page [called "Satanism shall not pass - boycott of Agros Nova products"], even if you are not from Poland. This is very important! Satan is attacking the last major Catholic country in Europe. We need to stand up and defend it!

Eucharistic Miracle in Poland: Confirmed by Doctors

Edit: remember the possibly miraculous Host which was put in a ciborium as is customary and wouldn't dissolve but actually developed red specks on it that look like blood?   The possible miracle being referred to was at St. Augustine's Parish [Soon to be dissolved by the Archdiocese] in South St. Paul Minnesota.  As of yet there is still no report back, but in the case of this Polish Host, two Doctors have determined that the specks were actually heart tissue.  This event occurred back in 2008.  Here's the story:

Roman Catholics in Poland gathered Sunday for a special Mass celebrating what they see as a miracle: the appearance on a communion wafer of a dark spot that they are convinced is part of the heart of Jesus.

The communion wafer [It's a Consecrated Host] in question developed a brown spot in 2008 after falling on the floor during a Mass in the eastern Polish town of Sokolka. Two medical doctors determined that the spot was heart muscle tissue, church officials have said.

Anniversary of The Miracle on the Vistula: Poland Defeats the Red Army in 1920

Edit:  Today is the anniversary of the first day of the Battle of Warsaw wherein the Poles, under the cautious but inspired leadership of Józef Piłsudski drove back the Red Army at the gates of Warsaw. A poorly equipped but motivated Polish Army won out against the odds and expectations of their European supporters.  This victory was the fruit of brilliant planning on the part of the Poles and granted to them by Our Lady as many Poles went to the Monastery of Czestochowa to get intercession:

When the Russians were at Warsaw's gates in 1920, thousands of people walked from Warsaw to Czestochowa to ask the Madonna for help. The Poles defeated the Russians at a battle along the Wisla (or Vistula) River. Today, every school child knows the victory as "The Miracle on the Wisla."[here]
This great victory is also the subject of a new film set to be released in October by Jerzy Hoffman.  In contrast to his other films, the famed Polish director now has an opportunity to portray the Russians as the enemy, which he avoided doing in his earlier dramatizations of Henry Sienkiewicz's Trilogy.  It's amazing what not having a few Soviet Shock Armies at your doorstep will do for artistic freedom and the Catholic faith.  This film has a notable religious dimension and underscores Poland's growing religious feeling.

Poland Continues Drive to Abolish Abortion

Edit: What you need to get rid of Abortion is a Catholic Government. Cowtowing to the Republicans like the Pro-Life movement does offers no realistic remedies because it is a facile movement with no deep spiritual moorings.

Polish Youth Favor Banning Abortion: Poland Prepares Vote on Abortion

Editor: check out the way the ages are set up in this Life News article. The hippie generation of 68 is less in support of the Catholic position than the younger, better and more promising, generation. Once again, we're seeing that the generation which fell for all the newfangled ideas, the abortion, the draconian family law, the divorce, the contraception and the sodomy is out of step with Poland's Zeigeist.

"...76% of those aged 15 to 24 favor total protection for unborn children."

[Life News] Poland lawmakers cast their initial vote on legislation that would ban all abortions in the European nation — supporting a bid to move ahead with legislation that would tighten the nation’s laws already prohibiting most abortions.

The PRO Foundation has organized a grassroots campaign to lobby MPs to support the legislation and the nation’s Catholic bishops have also played an integral role in advancing the legislation. The legislation is the result of a citizen-led initiative drive in which sponsors collected 100,000 signatures over the course of three months but which resulted in collecting 600,000 petitions in just two weeks.

The bill would remove the rape and incest exceptions from the current federal law in Poland and provide protection for pregnant women and unborn children starting at conception. Also, currently, Polish law allows for abortion in cases related to maternal health, if the pregnancy is the result of “illegal activity,” or if the unborn child is disabled.

Some Polish abortion practitioners have reportedly manipulated the law to do abortions on children with minor problems such as a cleft palate and others are misreporting the fetal age of the unborn baby at the time of the abortion to escape prosecution.

According to an AFP report, members of the Polish parliament turned back an effort by left-wing legislators to stop progress on the bill and, instead, they sent it to a committee for further work. Members of the Sejm voted 254-151 against the communist Democratic Left Alliance’s motion to reject the legislation and, in a subsequent vote, lawmakers sent the bill to committee for finalization.

Cardinal Stanislaw Dziwisz, a former assistant to Pope John Paul II, told Poland’s largest opinion weekly, Gosc Niedzielny, “The Church clearly teaches that it is the obligation of Catholics not to protect the current ‘compromise’ but to aim at complete protection of life. This is a solution, which the Church calls for. I support all efforts aiming at improving the protection of human life.”

The Nazi invasion in World War II brought legalized abortions to Poland and the situation was exacerbated under Communist rule by the Soviet Union. In 1993, a free Poland put the current pro-life laws in place but did not ban all abortions.

A survey conducted earlier this month demonstrates a shift in the population’s attitudes about abortion and showed 65% of Poles agree that the law “should unconditionally protect the life of all children since conception,” and 76% of those aged 15 to 24 favor total protection for unborn children. Some 57 percent of those aged 55 to 70 agree that a ban on abortions is appropriate.

    Poland Crumbles to Sodom

Poland to end gay marriage abroad discrimination

    27.04.2011 08:11
Polish registry offices will be issued with new certificates which will effectively end in Poland discrimination against same sex couples wanting to get married or enter into a civil partnership abroad.

The Ministry of Interior will issue a new type of certificate - which is needed for all couples, heterosexual or homosexual who wish to get married outside of Poland  - without the section calling for the identification of the future spouse and so taking away the possibility that the registrar could refuse to sign it if he or she was against same-sex partnerships.

“Work is already underway and there will be a new type of certificate without the section concerning future spouses,” Ministry spokeswoman Małgorzata Woźniak told the Gazeta Wyborcza daily.

Currently, registry offices only issues the certificates to heterosexual couples. The new certificates will not require someone wanting to obtain the certificate to give the name of their partner.

The Campaign Against Homophobia says it has numerous examples of gay and lesbians being refused the certificate which would enable them to marry in the UK, Spain, the Netherlands or other countries where same-sex civil unions are legal. (pg)

Catholic schools cannot refuse to hire gay teachers, says Brussels

    ANDREW RETTMAN

    28.10.2010 @ 19:52 CET

EUOBSERVER / BRUSSELS - The European Commission has said that Roman Catholic schools in Poland or elsewhere in the EU cannot refuse to employ gay teachers.

EU justice commissioner Viviane Reding said on Wednesday (26 October) in a written statement that EU law on non-discrimination in the workplace allows religious outfits "to take a person's religion or belief into account, where necessary, when recruiting personnel and to require their personnel to show loyalty to that ethos."

But she added: "While it is difficult to make a statement about a hypothetical case, the commission fails to see how a teacher's sexual orientation could reasonably constitute a genuine and determining occupational requirement."

Polish Government Plans Shutdown of 'Radio Maryja"

Editor: Earlier we saw that the Polish government was ready to vote on a proposal to enthrone Christ the King of Poland. The proposal was defeated earlier with the help of the Bishops, but it might be passed this time, without the Bishop's approval.

Now, the government is threatening to close down 'Radio Maryja' and a former Polish Prime Minister offers his thought as to why.

    Catholic Radio is to Disaappear

Poland [kreuz.net] The National Advisory Board is ready to destroy the Catholic broadcaster 'Radio Maryja'. That was according to Polish politician and former Prime Minister, Jaroslaw Kaczynski, on Friday in an interview with 'Radio Maryja', the government is in "panic for fear of the truth", which the radio station transmits. The Supervisory Board maintains that 'Radio Maryja" uses advertising. That is, however, forbidden because of the non-profit status of the broadcaster.

Polish Bishops' Conference Refuses to Consecrate Poland to Christ the King

Polish Bishops' Conference: "The Kingdom of Christ is Not of this World"

Warsaw (kath.net/KAP) Poland's bishops are against the idea of a popular movement for the Consecration of Poland to Christ the King -- who take as their Motto: "Christ, King of Poland". This plan should be given up, said the president of the Polish Bishops' Conference, Archbishop Jozef Michalik, this Wednesday at the close of the Autumn Meeting of Bishops in Warsaw. The Kingdom of Christ is "not of this world".

In the concluding explanation the Bishops warn against the supposition, that the Entrhonement of Christ as the King of Poland, "will solve all problems". In place of this they propose, the deepening faith in Christ as the "King of the Universe". Michalik recognized the good intentions of the people's movement.

More than 1,000 people had demonstrated in Warsaw this weekend for a proclamation of Christ the King of Poland. They came with National flags and pictures of the Crowned Christ, King of Parliament from the Presidential Palace. "The Movement for the Sovereignty of the Polish People" had called this demonstration.

Already in 2006 the Church had criticized around 40 priests, who then proposing a Christ the King blessing of Poland. The proposal elicited no comment from the Parliament. The organizers explained that in 1656 Poland officially proclaimed the Mother of God as the "Queen of Poland".

Polish Priest in Germany, Suicide, Left for Months in Apartment

Editor: from a previous week's posting at Kreuz.net. There is still no word on the background of this strange case, why the priest killed himself, or why he was released from his position from the parish or why he didn't find other employment.

At the beginning of January a Polish clergyman living in Germany killed himself. No one noticed that he went missing.

(kreuz.net, Duisberg) For a month long the body of the priest lay in his home in the neighborhood of Walsum and rotted. This was according to the site 'The Westen'.

On the 13th of August ordered the eviction of the residence.

The clergyman, Father David Zerlass (53), had not paid any rent for months and had not responded to any bills.

The already mumified remains of the priest were discovered during eviction.

For years without an engagement or work

From 2001 to 2005 the Polish native worked in the parish of St. Joseph in Walsum in the Diocese of Munster.

Prior to that he worked five years in the city of "Werne an der Lippe".

After ten years in Germany the priest received no more assignments. Otherwise he could have received a position in Warsaw.

He rather chose to live in his home in the parish of St. Joseph.

The priest ceased contact with the Church: "He had always said, he had nothing to discuss" -- explained his predecessor, Pastor Walter Gross of St. Josef.

It remains unclear, how the dead priest earned his living.

    A secluded and tight-lipped neighbor

This afternoon the police explained to 'The Westen', that the Priest had killed himself.

From the expiration dates on the food the police discerned that the priest had taken his life already in January.

He is said to be "a nice, but anything but a talkative person." -- explained 'Der Westen'.

Polish Bishop Accuses Jews of Using Holocaust as Propaganda

[Haeretz] A leading Polish Catholic bishop caused a stir on Monday when he was quoted as saying that Jews had "expropriated" the Holocaust as a "propaganda weapon".

The comments by Bishop Tadeusz Pieronek, a former head of the Polish bishops' conference, prompted concern among Jewish leaders in both Poland and Italy after they were published on the conservative Italian Catholic website www.pontifex.roma.

Pieronek later went on Polish television to say his comments had been manipulated and he denied one phrase in which he was quoted as saying "the Holocaust as such is a Jewish invention".

He also said that he did not "authorise" the publication of the interview, which was still on the website on Monday evening.

"It is undeniable that the greatest number of dead in concentration camps were Jews but there are also Polish gypsies, Italians and Catholics on the list," he was quoted as saying.
