At the Wish of Pope Francis: "Osservatore Romano" -- Protestant as Editor

From September the Argentine Edition of the Osservatore Romano will appear -- in the
photo is the Internet site of the Vatican Paper

(Rome) At the direction of Pope Francis an autonomous Argentine edition of the Osservatore Romano will be published. The launch is scheduled for next September.

In Rome currently no one knows exactly how it with the semi-official newspaper of the Vatican, the Osservatore Romano will continue. Established by Pope Francis in the June 2015, the Communication Secretariat of the Roman Curia is planning drastic cuts.

The prefect of the new dicastery, the Italian priest and communication scientist Don Dario Edoardo Viganò, is working on a summary and restructuring of all Vatican media. The former director and chief editor of the Vatican Television Centre (CTV) sees primarily a cost factor in Osservatore Romano. The Italian edition will be transferred from a daily newspaper to a weekly newspaper to reduce costs. Several different languages, weekly expenses, including shifting the German edition completely to the Internet.

Pope Francis has a different view, at least as regards Argentina. The Pope gave orders to start its own edition of the Osservatore Romano for Argentina. This was due to the recent polemics in his home about his relationship since December 2015 with incumbent President Mauricio Macri and the Papal Foundation Scholas Occurrentes.

An Argentinean edition of the Osservatore Romano is to offer "complete and unabridged, the Pope's words" as reported by the Argentine news agency, Telam . The papal intention had already turned into the concrete implementation as "Vatican sources confirmed," say the news agency.

The Argentine edition is to appear from next September. It will be operated out of Silvana Perez's Spanish weekly edition, which is respectively extended by a 4-8-page special Argentine supplement.

The Pope's "heretical" Ghostwriter accepts supervisory role

The authors of this special supplement are personally "selected and authorized by the Pope" so Telam. The oversight of the supplement is to be undertaken officially by the Argentine Episcopal Conference, but in fact a "publisher Commission" is to be headed by the papal confidant Msgr. Victor Manuel Fernández.

Victor Manuel Fernandez Accepts Supervisory Role

Fernández is considered the intellectual factotum of Pope Francis. Jorge Mario Bergoglio assigned him as rector of the Pontifical Catholic University of Argentina in 2009 against strong resistance in the Vatican. Exactly two months after his election as Pope Francis, he appointed him Titular Archbishop.

Officially, the Rector in Buenos Aires, Msgr. Fernández, adheres more in Rome than in Argentina. He is known as one of the Pope's closest confidants, but also as ghostwriter . Both Evangelii gaudium and Laudato si and Amoris laetitia are attributed to a significant extent to the feather of the Argentine prelate. This also applies to the controversial wording of the post-synodal letter Amoris laetitia.

No less than the prefect of the CDF, Cardinal Gerhard Müller, described the papal text's author as "heretical".

Editorial director is a Protestant theologian, technical director, a Peronist

While the oversight of the Argentine Osservatore Romano will be the "heretical" Titular Archbishop Fernández, the editorial line will be taken over by the Protestant theologian Marcelo Figueroa.

Santiago Pont Lezica and Marcelo Figueroa Santiago Pont Lezica and Marcelo Figueroa

The appointment of Figueroa underlines "the ecumenical character", which Pope Francis has given his pontificate, says Telam .
Santiago Pont Lezica and Marcelo Figueroa

The technical management is accepted by Santiago Pont Lezica, the director of FM Milenium, a private radio city in Buenos Aires. Before that, FM Milenium 1998 was founded by the late Bernardo Neustadt, the former press secretary of Juan Perón. The Peronist Neustadt was born in 1925 in Jassenmarkt (Romanian Iaşi), the old Romanian capital. When he was six months old, his family emigrated to Argentina, where he was one of the most influential political journalists since the late 50s.

Figueroa and Pont Lezica met last June with Pope Francis in Santa Marta to discuss the Argentine Osservatore. On this occasion, they led an interview with the now departing Vatican spokesman Father Federico Lombardi SJ.. Lombardi said that with controversial papal statements, it was necessary "to go to the sources, to the direct words of the Pope, and there will be no polemics."

Argentina will thus be the first country, outside of Italy, to have its own edition appearing since Osservatore Romano was founded in 1861, which since 2007 has been led by the Italian journalist Giovanni Maria Vian.

Bishop of Pistoia Against New Chapel of SSPX

Bishop Tardelli with Pope Francis
(Rome) Different bishops, different customs in dealing with the Society of St. Pius X
In October 2015  Archbishop Lorenzo Ghizzoni of Ravenna-Cervia in Romagna invited the SSPX into his archdiocese, so they celebrated in Holy Mass in a parish in the Immemorial  Roman Rite. The Archbishop thus addressed the desire of the faithful who had allowed the celebration of Holy Mass in the Immemorial Rite. The archbishop had also wanted to create another old rite community. Since there is a priory of the SSPX in the near Rimini, he turned to them.
This is unlike Bishop Fausto Tardelli of Pistoia in Tuscany. He does not follow the "openness" towards the SSPX, as practiced by Pope Francis, who accorded the SSPX priests  the right to lawfully and validly dispense the sacrament of Penance for the Holy Year of mercy and offered the possibility of canonical recognition  of the Society.
Bishop Tardelli wrote the faithful of the parish of Montale a letter inviting them not to visit "the lefebvrian private church," which had been built by a citizen of Montale in his house.

Holy Mass in the Traditional Rite in the Villa Tosca

A native of Tyrol, Father Elias Stolz of the SSPX at the first Holy Mass celebragted  in June 2015 in the Villa Tosca

Alessandro Meoni rennovated his family home in the center of Montale, ten kilometers from Pistoia, a remote municipality with around 10,000 inhabitants. In the "Villa Tosca", named after his grandmother, he also built a chapel. He celebrated an "open day" where the citizens of Montale visited the restored Villa in June 2015. The house blessing was connected with a Holy Mass in the traditional rite."An opportunity for the citizens of Montale, to experience again the old Latin Mass," says the local online newspaper NoiDiQua . Since then, a  priest of the SSPX has been celebrating Holy Mass in Montale.
The construction of the chapel earned Meoni  'excommunication' by Bishop Tardelli, as the local newspaper Il Tirreno reported. However, the excommunication was not open to question. The  Bishop's letter was posted at the church door of Montale and read last Sunday during the Holy Mass in the parish church.
The bishop did not call anyone from Montale by name but spoke of the building of the chapel in a "private home without ecclesiastical permission". What was mentioned by name by the bishop, however, was the Society of St. Pius X, who celebrates the liturgy in the chapel.

Bishop: "Truly Catholic faithful stay away"

Bishop Tardelli exhorted the faithful that the SSPX "not an institution (neither a parish nor a society) is the Catholic Church". Despite the "lifting of the excommunication of four prelates of the Fraternity." Pope Benedict XVI was arranged, "remain the doctrinal questions". The bishop stressed the fact that the Society "has no canonical status in the Church"  and "therefore continues to be in an irregular situation" and "not in full communion with the Apostolic See."
"That's enough," said Bishop Tardelli, "that every truly Catholic believer keeps away the celebrations", which take place at the said place. This applies "especially" for those who "Allow and organize celebrations in their privately owned homes."
Msgr. Tardelli, who was appointed by Pope John Paul II., Bishop of San Miniato in Tuscany in 2004, is considered traditional friendly. On May 2013 he took up the invitation of the Coordinamento Toscano Benedict XVI. to participate at the annual pilgrimage of tradition to Our Lady of Montenero. He lived the Holy Mass in the traditional rite, which was celebrated by  Father Serafino Lanzetta of the Franciscans of the Immaculate. A few weeks later a Calvary for the Order began. The Roman Congregation of Religious placed the Franciscan Friars of the Immaculate, with the approval of Pope Francis, under provisional administration. As deacon and sub-deacon he was then assisted by two priests of the Institute of Christ the King and High Priest, whose seminary is located in Tuscany.
Following the pilgrimage Bishop Tardelli, conferred three adults Confirmation in the traditional rite.
In October 2014 Pope Francis appointed him bishop of Pistoia.

Catholic Prelates, Priests and Academics Objecting to Errors of AmorisLaetitia

Press Release

7/9/16

A group of Catholic academics and pastors has submitted an appeal to Cardinal Angelo Sodano, Dean of the College of Cardinals in Rome, requesting that the Cardinals and Eastern Catholic Patriarchs petition His Holiness, Pope Francis, to repudiate a list of erroneous propositions that can be drawn from a natural reading of the post-synodal Apostolic Exhortation Amoris laetitia. During the coming
weeks this submission will be sent in various languages to every one of the Cardinals and Patriarchs, of whom there are 218 living at present.

Describing the exhortation as containing “a number of statements that can be understood in a sense that is contrary to Catholic faith and morals,” the signatories submitted, along with their appeal, a
documented list of applicable theological censures specifying “the nature and degree of the errors that could be attributed to Amoris laetitia.”

Among the 45 signatories are Catholic prelates, scholars, professors, authors, and clergy from various pontifical universities, seminaries, colleges, theological institutes, religious orders, and dioceses around the world. They have asked the College of Cardinals, in their capacity as the Pope's official advisers, to approach the Holy Father with a request that he repudiate “the errors listed in the document in a definitive and final manner, and to authoritatively state that Amoris laetitia does not require any of them to be believed or considered as possibly true.”

“We are not accusing the pope of heresy,” said a spokesman for the authors, “but we consider that numerous propositions in Amoris laetitia can be construed as heretical upon a natural reading of the text. Additional statements would fall under other established theological censures, such as scandalous, erroneous in faith, and ambiguous, among others.”

The 1983 Code of Canon Law states that “According to the knowledge, competence, and expertise which they possess, they [the Christian faithful] have the right and even at times the duty to manifest to the sacred pastors their opinion on matters which pertain to the good of the Church and to make their opinion known to the rest of the Christian faithful” (CIC, can. 212 §3).

The thirteen-page document quotes nineteen passages in the exhortation which seem to conflict with Catholic doctrines. These doctrines include the real possibility with the grace of God of obeying all the commandments, the fact that certain kinds of act are wrong in all circumstances, the headship of the husband, the superiority of consecrated virginity over the married life, and the legitimacy of capital punishment under certain circumstances. The document also argues that the exhortation undermines the Church's teaching that divorced and civilly remarried Catholics who have made no commitment to continence cannot be admitted to the sacraments while they remain
in that state.

The spokesman said, “It is our hope that by seeking from our Holy Father a definitive repudiation of these errors we can help to allay the confusion already brought about by Amoris laetitia among pastors and the lay faithful. For that confusion can be dispelled effectively only by an unambiguous affirmation of authentic Catholic teaching by the Successor of Peter.”

Dr Joseph Shaw, an Oxford academic and a signatory to the appeal, is acting as spokesman for this group of Catholic scholars and pastors. The group has set up the email address.

Dr Shaw’s personal details can at the following link.

His role as signatory and spokesman for the group is as a private person, concerned Catholic, and philosopher, and should not be construed as representative of the institutions for which he serves in
an official capacity.

Pope Francis: "I am by nature irresponsible"

(Rome) The Osservatore Romano, the semi-official daily newspaper of the Holy See has put a photograph of a Selfie of the Pope with YouTubers on the front page. At the same time the Pope has also announced  he does not think he will resign like his predecessor.
Pope Francis received last Sunday afternoon twelve so-called Youtubers from different nations. As a reminder they made a selfie with the Pope. The photo service of L'Osservatore Romano captured the moment, and the Italian edition of the newspaper published the image on the front page of yesterday's edition.
Youtube , the Internet video platform from Google, is "communication" and is a prerequisite for  "dialogue". That was the reason for the papal invitation to the Youtubers  because "dialog wins all", as the Osservatore Romano headlined.
Pope Francis has pleaded expressly not for "discussion", but for "dialogue". The Pope said:
"In dialogue all win, no one loses, during discussion one wins and the other loses, or both lose. Dialogue is gentleness, the ability to listen, to put oneself in the position of others and to build bridges. In the dialog, even if I disagree: this is not discussion, but rather it convinces with gentleness."
The Youtubers were participants of the 6th World Congress of Scholas Occurrentes, one of the foundations established by Pope Francis.

No, the Pope does not think about resignation

At the meeting the Pope was asked the question, among other things, has he also considered  resignation, as his predecessor Benedict XVI. The answer of Francis was conclusive: No, he is not considering resignation.
The Pope said, according to L'Osservatore Romano (page 8):
"I did not think to resign because of the responsibility ... Let me confide something to you: I had not thought that they would choose me. It was a surprise for me ... But from the time God has given me a peace that continues to this day, and that brings me forward. This is the grace that I have received. On the other hand, I am by nature irresponsible, and so I will continue (D'Altra parte, per natura io sono incosciente, e così vado avanti)."

Pope Francis Has Seriously Curtailed Cardinal Pell's Competency

Pope Francis with Cardinal George Pell

(Rome) In the last months there were rumors circulating, now they are substantiated: the responsibilities of the Australian Cardinal George Pell in the Roman Curia are to be seriously curtailed with a new motu proprio.
As on March 13, 2013, the name of the new Pope was announced and the name "Georgium" was called, many had guessed: The Cardinals had elected not George Pell, but Jorge Mario Bergoglio as the leader of the Catholic Church.
As the only oceanic Cardinal, the then Archbishop of Sydney, a month after the conclave, he slipped into the C8 Council  of cardinal advisers (today C9) established by Pope Francis, to advise the Pope in the reform of the Curia and the guidance of the universal Church.

The unexpected appeal to Rome

On February 24, 2014, Francis even brought him into the Roman Curia and appointed him first Cardinal Prefect of the new  Secretariat on the Economy. The appointment provoked some surprise, since it was known that the traditional friendly Australian was not exactly on the same wavelength with the reigning Pope. When the double Synod against the Family took place, the Cardinal was in the front row of the defenders  of Catholic moral teaching and Sacraments against the  "new Mercy" by Cardinal Walter Kasper preferred by Pope Francis.

Cardinal Pell with Pope Benedict XVI.

Cardinal Pell has indeed risen with his appointment to Rome as head of a dicastry but the decree has meant little more in the Roman Curia than a nice title.
Meanwhile, Francis has begun with the  reorganization of the Australian and Oceanic episcopate.
Cardinal Pell, a man of action, was not one for withdrawing to his office  in Rome wait up his retirement. Known as a good steward  he began to actively undertake what he had been called to do: to build good governance, coordinating in all economic and financial areas. And if it nobody helped, he did it himself.
The other dicasteries did not find this funny. They feared a loss of competence. Especially since some really didn't  wanted someone looking at their cards (financial).
Pell's reputation as "Ratzingerian" did not serve him well in modified Rome.
Before the Cardinal could really get started, intrigues already  translated against him , which in intensity with time increased so much so that in the spring of 2016, dismissal wasn't even excluded by Pell's circle. The rumors got  new sustenance on 8th June, as the cardinal reached the age of 75 and in accordance with canon law had to offer the Pope his resignation. Vatican spokesman Father Federico Lombardi SJ answered that day to journalists who asked the question whether the cardinal will continue to work in the Vatican, with the words: "I assume that we would have congratulated him."

Read Tornielli to understand the purpose of the new Motu Proprio

A month later, the Pope issued a motu proprio on July 4,  I beni Temporali (temporal things) on certain economic and financial responsibilities. If you read the daily bulletin of the Vatican press office, one learns nothing, apparently because nothing would be said. To understand what Pope Francis intended in the new Motu Proprio, had to be read in a product of the papal house vaticanist. Andrea Tornielli in Vatican Insider.
Tornielli wrote on Saturday: "The Administration of the Patrimony of the Apostolic See (APSA) will reorganize all the assets."
In 2014, when Pope Francis created the new Vatican Secretariat for the Economy, he meant it to exercise a "super-ministry" of management and control of the entire economic and financial area. With the new motu proprio, Cardinal Pell only remains in a supervisory office. Pope Francis had made, says Tornielli, a "clear and unequivocal separation" between asset management and the exercise of control over the administration. In other words, Cardinal Pell's dicastery is again little more than an office.
The most important statement is to be found in the very last sentence of  Tornielli's article: "At the same time, power over the goods of the Holy See has been made more collegial and focused less in the hands of a single person."
Cardinal Pell had wanted no "concentration of power," but merely wanted to implement the papal motu proprio verbatim, establishing the Economic Secretariat of 2014. Other Curia staff have more weight for Pope Francis than Cardinal Pell.  Apparently those who specularated in 2014 were right that Cardinal Pell was only summoned  to Rome to be left in the cold.

Cardinal Nichols Objects to Correct Catholic Worship

Edit: found this on Father Ray Blake's blog where Nichols is warning his clergy against praying as Catholics have prayed since the times of the Apostles, adopting a novelty developed by Protestants.

This is how the CDW interprets it:
The Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments has been asked whether the expression in n. 299 of the Institutio Generalis Missalis Romani constitutes a norm according to which the position of the priest versus absidem [facing the apse] is to be excluded.
The Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments, after mature
reflection and in light of liturgical precedents, responds:
Negatively, and in accordance with the following explanation.
The explanation includes different elements which must be taken into account. First, the word expedit does not constitute a strict obligation but a suggestion that refers to the
construction of the altar a pariete sejunctum (detached from the wall). It does not require, for example, that existing altars be pulled away from the wall. The phrase ubi possibile sit (where it is possible) refers to, for example, the topography of the place, the availability of space, the artistic value of the existing altar, the sensibility of the people participating in the celebrations in a particular church, etc.

Note: maybe now, Cardinal Nichols can get his Soho Masses back?

David Haas' Intrinsically Disordered Hymns

Profane Halls
Edit: visiting Tantumblogo we found this gem. How could anyone take any of these men or their artistic pretense seriously?

The hymns of Oregon Catholic Press, Leaflet Missal and Gather are intrinsically disordered
and indisputably introverted.  How could any self-respecting clergyman allow OCP hymnals in his church unless he's an aberrosexual or doesn't care?

Can you imagine being forced to choose between Haas, Joncas and the Saint Louis Jesuits for the funeral of a loved one and being told that there is no other alternative by a gigantic, blustery, lisping, sweaty, Irish loudmouth in sandals, and that your family also belongs to the masonic lodge looking chapel community whose  rights supersede your own personal sensus catholicus and the deceased?

Most families keep going to the masonic lodge looking chapel with the brutal granite altar designed by the evil Frank Kazmarcek and paid for by their hard earned cash, long after they have forgotten mostly why they went in the first place.

They deserve it, those who  keep supporting them, even after they're dead.

Austria: 52 Year Old Man Stages Hate Crime Against Himself

WIENER NEUSTADT. Wiener Neustadt prosecutors have accused a man of having staged a swastika attack against himself. Thus, the case took a spectacular turn, after months pointed in the other direction, said the Austrian Kurier . The case was in the headlines for weeks.

At this point, Robert T. was the alleged victims, who had been attacked and beaten in September of last year by three masked men. He had massive cuts and also had a swastika scratched into his forehead, modeled after the movie "Inglourious Basterds." The son-in-law of his neighbor was considered a suspect and served three months in detention before he was acquitted.

Two Alleged Attacks

Picture of the alleged victim from Kurier

In February, then, another incident had occurred: Robert T. was found in a state of hypothermia and tied near his home. In addition to numerous cuts he had carved a large swastika in his chest. Again he blamed his neighbors for the attack.

Homicide police then took over the investigation and evaluated the video and collation of information. Robert T. stated that the perpetrators had hidden in his car. But the investigators found no foreign DNA or fingerprints.

Increased desire for attention

Response, the prosecutor called upon a medical and a psychiatric expert to clarify whether Robert T. could have inflicted the injuries himself. The doctor confirmed this. The accused has an increased desire for attention, said the certified psychiatrist.

Robert T. must now answer for the pretense and false statement before the judge. His wife is under investigation for slander and false testimony. A court date is still pending. (Ls)

Tübingen: Tabernacle Stolen With Blessed Sacrament

Around 10,000 euros damage and on top of that violation of religious sentiments no less Catholics by the theft of the Blessed Sacrament.

Tübingen (kath.net) Around 10,000 Euros damage and on top of that, no less than the violation of the religious sentiments of Catholics by the theft of the Blessed Sacrament. This is the result of thieves at St. Pancras in Buhl in Tubingen (Diocese of Rottenburg-Stuttgart). The thieves stole the whole tabernacle and its contents, they pulled the heavy loot apparently on a rug in the church and then to a vehicle parked near the parsonage. This was reported by the "Südwestpresse" and other media. Tübingen police have asked for witnesses to step forward.

The tabernacle contained, according to the "Südwestpresse," two hundred year old gold gilded chalices, interiorly lined with gold pewter and two golden patens.

The perpetrators entered the church through the unlocked main door, then broke the sacristy door and stole the tabernacle out of the sacristy, according to the press reports.

According to Catholic understanding Jesus Christ is physically present in the Holy Eucharist. A theft as described above is, therefore a very serious sacrilege for Catholics.

Will Progressive Outsider Be Responsible in Future for the Appointment of Bishops?

(Washington) Archbishop Charles Chaput of Philadelphia has been attacked by the media as an "enemy" of the Pope, because he interpreted the Post-Synodal Letter Amoris laetitia in the light of Catholic moral teaching and Sacraments. Archbishop Blase  Cupich of Chicago has been appointed at the same time by Pope Francis as a member of the Congregation for Bishops, and will continue to have a decisive influence on the appointment of bishops in the United States. The two events are emblematic of the pontificate of Pope Francis and his relationship with the Church in the United States. The Church in the United States is not only the richest and one of the most influential churches in the world, the US episcopate being formed by  the pontificates of John Paul II. and especially Benedict XVI., as an  "obstacle" for the progressive agenda.
As reported,  the profile Archbishop of Philadelphia, a direct descendant of the Saint King Louis IX. of France, is in the crossfire of criticism, because he published on July 1,  the "Pastoral Guidelines for the Implementation of Amoris Laetitia" in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia (see NCR's Archbishop Chaput affirmed Catholic teaching on marriage and is presented by the media as an "enemy" of the Pope ). In it,  Archbishop Chaput reiterated Catholic marriage and morality in terms of divorce, remarriage and reception of Communion. The archbishop is it shown by the media as  an "enemy" of Pope Francis, who wishes, unlike Msgr. Chaput, for an "opening".

Pope Francis appoints Cupich in the Congregation for Bishops

Today it was announced in the daily bulletin of the Holy See that Pope Francis has appointed the controversial bishop of the United States, Archbishop Blase Cupich, a member of the Congregation of Bishops. He will thus have a say in the future, a decisive say, in the appointment of bishops in the United States.

Msgr. Cupich is controversial because of his progressive stance . The former bishop of the little diocese of Spokane in Illinois was considered "leftist outsider" among the bishops of the United States, as Pope Francis made him an archbishop  in September 2014 of the most important and largest diocese in the country. The Pope had clashed   with the then incumbent predecessor, Cardinal Francis George, head to head,  who died a few months later from cancer.  Who the favor of the Pope belongs, was also made clear that Cupich, who had not been elected by the US bishops as a delegate to the Synod for Bishops  for the  Synod on the Family to Rome, was appointed by Francis personally to the synod. In Rome he was then promptly praised for his "open" attitude on the controversial issues, particularly his " Deliramenta" on the subjective conscience.

Pope "is looking for the most progressive candidate"

Cupich's progressive outsider role is therefore not a defect, but has been the real reason why Francis made him the archbishop of Chicago, as Catholic observers are unanimous about in the US.
In an essay for Le Journal de Montréal  Alain Pronkin wrote on April 19, 2016: Pope Francis is looking at the episcopal appointments "for the most progressive candidate." In November 2015, the Vatican expert Sandro Magister drew attention because the "real revolution" of Pope Francis would succeed "by appointment".
The cardinalatial dignity is usually associated with the Archdiocese of Philadelphia and Chicago. In the United States it will be closely monitored, which of the two metropolitans Pope Francis will rise into the cardinalatial state.

Archbishop Cupich instead Cardinal Burke

Under Pope Benedict XVI., it was the former Archbishop of Saint Louis, Raymond Leo Burke, who was assigned as one of the "bishop makers" in the US. The German pope summoned the farmer's son from Wisconsin and brilliant canon lawyer  to the Roman Curia to Rome in 2008 and made him Prefect of the Apostolic Signatura, the Vatican's high court.
The influence of  the outstanding and traditionally friendly cardinal, who was even considered "papabile" during the papal conclave of 2013, made him a thorn in the side to those  who found an ear in high places with the election of Pope Francis. The Argentine Pope dismissed the US Cardinal: In December 2013, he removed Cardinal Burke from the Canonization Congregation and from the Congregation for Bishops. The latter decision was seen as a demonstrative departure "from the excellent " episcopal appointments (Fr. Joseph Fessio SJ, student of Joseph Ratzinger) in the US by Benedict XVI. for which  Cardinal Burke was significantly responsible..
The appointment of  Bishop Cupich as Archbishop of Chicago confirmed fears.

Cupich the new "Bishop maker" in the US

By his appointment as member of the Congregation for Bishops, as an observer, Archbishop Cupich would be to take a role in the appointment of bishops in the United States in the pontificate of Francis, which  Cardinal Burke had in the pontificate of Benedict XVI.. However, the orientation of the appointments will be quite different.
Cupich will not directly be accepting  the seat of Cardinal Burke. He had become, even before the Synod of Bishops in 2014, the spokesman of the defenders of Catholic moral teaching and Sacraments against the progressive Kasper agenda. Although he had already been quite clearly threatened with dismissal, he would not give up his resistance, and  the Cardinal fearlessly continued his fight for the traditional doctrine and did not hesitate also to call out Pope Francis as the relevant director of the attack on the sacrament of marriage. A few days after the conclusion of the Synod of Bishops, Pope Francis, "thanked"  him   Cardinal Burke by dismissing him and removing him from the Vatican. Thus, the Church leader beheaded the opposition to his "opening" and favored the Kasper Group.
At Burke's place in the Congregation for Bishops, Pope Francis put Cardinal Wuerl, Archbishop of Washington D.C. in December 2013,  who is known in the US episcopate as a "moderate conservative.".Cardinal Wuerl took the papal grace he had obtained via the anti-Burke function, very seriously. So seriously, that he publicly attacked his American brother Burke early in 2015, when he was punished by the Pope and completely removed from the Roman Curia and reproached him for criticizing papal decisions and defaming them.

Now the pope is no longer dependent on Cardinal Wuerl. In the meantime, there with Archbishop Cupich, is a real "man of the Pope" in the US episcopate. With today's appointment of Cupich in the Congregation for Bishops, Pope Francis the will turnout consistently new offices to continue with the aim:to rebuild the US episcopate.

Berlin Capitulates to Leftist Terror

Burning car in Berlin (archive): Pampered terrorists Photo: dpa
Whoever speaks these days about Berlin has to talk about terrorism.   Cars have been burning daily for weeks, police officers are attacked and shop windows of businesses and politicians offices  are repeatedly destroyed. Yes, that's terror. What else would it be?
That national media and federal politics, if it ever addresses the issue, does it just as a side note for a simple reason: The perpetrators are left-wing extremists. Wearing disguises and armed with stones, paint bombs and explosives, they track each night throughout the capital.
Politicians call for discussions and de-escalation
A "black July" was announced with attacks on police officers and all "beneficiaries of the prevailing logic" by terrorists from Riga Street. "As much as you can take is what's allowed!" This is the provocation to the citizens of the city. They are the ones who have to co-finance the terror of dubious "democracy programs" and in the "fight against the right".
But Berlin would not be Berlin if the hatred of the Left was not at  least combined with stupidity and insolence of the politicians in charge. Berlin's mayor, has now called for a "de-escalation approach" something like the quintessential Berliner slum factor. Yes, even talking with the left-wing extremist scene. This should break the "spiral of violence."
Went even further the domestic policy spokesman for the pirate faction in the Berlin City House, Christopher Lauer. His logic: give leftist extremists their squat, then they will stop the violence.
A thought experiment shows all the madness
A thought experiment is enough to understand the bizarreness  of these proposals. What would Lauer and Müller do if  right-wing extremists or Islamists occupied a Berlin trolley and daily attacked policemen and set cars on fire? But would be what's going on.
At least inside Senator Frank Henkel (CDU) has recognized this and just drawn this comparison.Just help the Berliners with this little hindsight. For years, the excesses of the left-wing scene was downplayed, ignored, relativized or even celebrated.
No, Berlin does not need a de-escalation concept and no ominous "civil society". Berlin needs a war on terror.

NCR Removes Blog Post After Progressivist Staff Blogger Attacks Faithful Catholic

Edit: this was later removed by the Dredgister, probably after hundreds of people complained about a leftist-progressivist, promoter of aberrounions, John Paul Shimek, attacking faithful Catholics on their blog.
We're posting this for the comments, primarily, not so much the low-level attack on faithful Catholics that we've probably grown used to seeing.  Some people are getting tired of it.

What's wrong with NCR that they let someone like him in the door in the first place?

And he posts for Lysis Magazine too...where they describe him as a "theologian".

[later removed by NCR]

Last weekend, Ines San Martin of Crux reported that Pope Francis “has vowed in a new interview that he won’t be slowed down by resistance from ‘ultra-conservatives’ in the Church who ‘say no to everything,’ insisting, ‘I’m going ahead without looking over my shoulder.’”

Good Catholics everywhere cheered the words of the Holy Father, the Successor of St. Peter.

You see, they readily understood that a handful of far-right ideologues do not get to determine the course of Christ’s Church. It doesn’t matter if those ideologues represent semi-schismatic enclaves or write popular blogs. Christ the Lord has empowered the Church’s Magisterium in communion with the Successor of St. Peter to lead the People of God. Not them.
